We are located at 101 S 2nd St, St. Charles, IL 60174 on the top floor of Baker Community House.The community center is located one block south of the intersection of routes 31 (Second Street) and 64 (North Avenue). We meet every Thursday night . We will NOT meet on Thanksgiving and when the following holidays fall on a Thursday:
Fourth of July Christmas Eve Christmas Day New Year's Eve New Year's Day The club meets every Thursday from 6:00 PM to 10:00 with events starting at 7:00PM. Casual play/analysis of old games from 6:00 to 7:00pm chess clocks are used to ensure each player gets an equal amount of time. time control for ladder play is 80/d5 or eighty minutes per game for each player with a 5 second delay. no need to play every week, but if you wish to play you must sign up or text no later then 6:50pm contact Gary on site or by texting him at (847) 895-0996 failure to meet the 6:50 deadline may result in a missed pairing. some members elect to play games outside of the ladder and find their own opponents. We hold 6 tournaments a year. club members who belong to the USCF are eligible to play in five rated tournaments.The ladder system, the top 8 ladder play in our annual "Knight's Cup" rated round-robin, with the 9-16th finishers playing in the "Squire's Cup". Skittles/casual play from 6-7pm, then ladder games (G/80, under 18 has option to play G/60) until 10pm. All levels are represented, from beginner up to expert. Regular club dues are $39/yr, first two visits are free. we held our G10 tournament last night with good turn out. James Marshall won with 4 out of 5 losing one game to John Suits who came in second. a rising star Shivani Manimaran place 3rd keep an eye on this young lady shes going places. here is cross table
